Final thoughts on the Cinque Terre

It is beautiful. It is touristy. Even when you do in-depth research on activities, have at least two back-up plans. Be flexible. From what we read about Portovenere, we think that it would be great to stay there, even though it’s difficult to get to, and take the ferry (if available) to visit the Cinque Terre. Trails between towns have been closed for years. No information about any closures is on any website. You will climb stairs to get a lot of places, because lots of things are built up into the mountain. And we are off to Lake Como - on the IC 666. Lol
