Wow. I saw Michaelangelo’s David this morning. Incredible. And he did this using an abandoned block of faulty marble. And he did it freehand - no pre-drawn lines, just what he saw in his head.
I love the description that his work rises from the stone like something rising out of water.
Faulty marble? I don’t think so.
As our friend Tom says, in total awe of this and so many other sculptures, “It’s freakin’ rock!”
